Born in Clarksville, Tennessee, in 1979, I spent my childhood in the Upstate region of South Carolina in a little
place called Campobello in the foothills of northwestern Spartanburg County. I grew up as the younger of two children (one older brother) with a loving mom and dad. I am the proud mother of two feline children, Rudy and Callie. (Human children are still somewhere in the distant future.)
I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and a master’s degree in library and information science. I have been working full time as a community college librarian in North Carolina since 2003. I also freelance as a Web designer, a part-time pursuit which I hope might become full time in the future.
I enjoy learning new hobbies or skills, and I have a tendency to throw myself into various pastimes, which can change from time to time. These days, I spend several hours every week as a runner. I compete in road races of various distances every couple of months or so. My biggest running accomplishment was the completion of a half-marathon in 2007.
